About civic-dialog.org

A free, community-maintained library of automation assets — workflows, prompts, scripts, and templates — built to help nonprofits and civic groups do more with the resources they have.

Why we exist

The average nonprofit staff member spends 100–200 hours a year on work that could be automated. That's time not spent on programs, advocacy, or the communities they serve. Meanwhile, the tools and expertise to fix this exist — they're just scattered, expensive, or locked behind enterprise paywalls.

civic-dialog.org exists to close that gap. Every asset published here is free to use, reviewed for safety and accuracy, and comes with honest documentation about what it does and doesn't do.

How it works

  1. Contributors submit assets — workflows, prompts, scripts, datasets — with full documentation.
  2. Reviewers check each asset for safety, accuracy, and clarity before it goes live.
  3. Anyone can browse, search, and clone assets for free — no account required.
  4. Ratings and reviews from the community surface the most useful tools.

Our values

Always free

Assets on this platform are free to access and use. That's non-negotiable.

Safety first

Every asset requires safety notes and passes human review before publishing.

Honest documentation

We require contributors to document what their tools do AND don't do.

Community-owned

The codebase and asset library are open source. Fork it. Improve it. Keep it.

The team

civic-dialog.org is built and maintained by volunteers with backgrounds in nonprofit technology, software engineering, and community organizing. We are not affiliated with any vendor and receive no revenue from the platform.
