An Airtable base (or Google Sheets template) that tracks all active and prospective grant opportunities with automated deadline reminders sent to your development team.

Problem This Solves

Nonprofits miss grant deadlines because opportunities are tracked in spreadsheets that no one actively monitors. A missed deadline means lost funding — sometimes tens of thousands of dollars.

Prerequisites

  • Airtable free plan — OR — Google Sheets + Google Apps Script
  • Zapier or Make free plan (optional, for Slack/email alerts)
  • Slack workspace (optional)

Setup Steps

  1. 1Copy the Airtable base from the provided template link (or download Google Sheets version)
  2. 2Add your existing grant opportunities to the Grants table
  3. 3Configure the Deadline field — set reminder dates (30/14/7/1 days before)
  4. 4Connect Zapier to send Slack or email alerts when deadlines approach (optional)
  5. 5Add team members as collaborators in Airtable
  6. 6Review the automation trigger — confirm test reminder fires
